STARWOOD HOTELS & RESORTS APPOINTS HANS ALTENHOFF GENERAL MANAGER OF NEW SHERATON CABLE BEACH RESORT

Plantation, Fla. - July 5, 2007 - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) is pleased to announce the appointment of 21-year hotel industry veteran Hans Altenhoff as general manager of the all-new Sheraton Cable Beach Resort in Nassau, The Bahamas, which opened its doors June 12, 2007.

The Sheraton Cable Beach Resort is owned by Baha Mar Resorts Ltd., and operated by its subsidiary Cable Beach Resorts & Crystal Palace Casino. The Sheraton offers a unique and expansive set of guest offerings and amenities shared with those of the neighboring Wyndham Nassau Resort, also operated by Cable Beach Resorts.

In his new position, Altenhoff will oversee the overall operations of the new 694-room Sheraton Cable Beach Resort, including food and beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, and sales. Altenhoff is also responsible for ensuring that established Sheraton brand standards are met in the areas of service, employee and guest satisfaction.

Altenhoff comes to the Sheraton Cable Beach Resort from the 659-room Sheraton Bal Harbour Beach Resort in Bal Harbour, Fla., where he held the position of general manager for the past five years. During this time, he received the "Sheraton Brand MPSI Award for 2004" at the World Conference; the "Outstanding Balance Performance Award for 2006" for the southeast region; and Starwood's Award for the "Leadership and Dedication throughout the 2005 Hurricane Season." Under Altenhoff's leadership, the Sheraton Bal Harbour received one of the highest Employee Satisfaction Index in North America's Starwood Hotels.

From 1989 to 2002, Altenhoff also served as general manager at five other Starwood locations throughout the U.S. and Canada - Sheraton Hartford Hotel in Hartford, Conn.; Sheraton Fredericton Hotel in New Brunswick, Canada; Sheraton Cerritos Hotel in Cerritos, Calif.; Princeville Hotel in Princeville, Hawaii; and the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, Calif. During this time, and under his strategic direction, occupancy rates rose. He also led the effective training of staff in the delivery of quality service, raised employee and guest satisfaction levels, and maximized revenues and profits. Altenhoff also served as the food and beverage director of the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Washington, D.C., from 1986 to 1988.

Prior to joining Starwood, Altenhoff built, owned and operated several restaurants and catering facilities from 1971 to 1985.
